We took a trip to the Redwoods of Northern CA and stumbled upon Trillium Falls.

I like #3 best and couldn't seem to duplicate the colors and feel of #3 with the the first two. I still have tons to learn, all comments and tips appreciated! :)

Thank-you.

The falls are in Redwood National Park, about 15-20 mins. south of Crescent city on the Northern California coast off of Hwy 101. The falls were only a half mile in from the trailhead.

You know, I've been to that park, but missed the falls. Bummer! Oh well, it only means I have to go back.

Excellent, and I agree with everyone else on #3. A definite calendar shot, at the least.

Regarding the color. Were you in automatic white balance mode? The third one looks a tad warmer than the other two. Look at the water towards the bottom of the falling portions. It has a pinkish cast in #3 and a bluish cast in the other two. Setting the white balance manually to "Shade" will usually yield the results in #3 - eye-popping lush greenery and warm rock tones.

Thanks!

The pic was shot in RAW, I played around with the shadows, highlights, saturation and added a bit of sharpening in PS Elements.

To be honest I'm not sure what white balance mode my dRebel is set to. I use Elements 3 and shoot RAW most of the time now that I have some extra cards. When editing at the end of the day some of the shots I used "Shade", some I used the "Cloudy" setting. I'm just now beginning to associate the different white balance settings with their corresponding image effects. Thanks for confirming my associations!

Thanks everyone for the kind comments!!
