I used to have a RC1 when I had my XSi and it worked great for me. Now with the 5D i have to use the 10 sec timer and run back every time. What do you use to trip the shutter wirelessly on your 5D?

thanks

I use the Phottix Plato remote and like it a lot.

Alternatively, you could also upgrade your CTR-301P's to RF-602's which can be used to trigger the camera as well as triggering flashes.

I use the Phottix one as well. Got it on eBay. Could also use my Pocket Wizards, but I have never needed to trigger the shutter from that far away, so those would be overkill.

I use the Phottix also.
You can get it from "TeamSpeed" here on POTN.

If I get the phottix, when I push the button, is there a delay in the shot?

I am using pocketwizards right now and there's too much of a delay in my opinion...around one second. I want instant response...possible?

I use http://www.procameragear.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/46_48/products_id/422 for my 50D, and it's fantastic. Way cheaper than the Phottix everyone else is using (it's $30), and it works with your 5D. Great remote, easy to use, and great range. I couldn't recommend it more.

That is about 2 generations ago of the Phottix remote. The current one operates at 2.4 ghz with 2 way communications and interchangeable cables. That one works, but is not totally comparable to the latest generation. For around $13 more you get these other features.
