I had some things around the house that I had collected about pirates! So I used them to set this shot up. Hope you like it.

just put a bottle of rum in there and give him an eye patch! Then it would be perfect!

..hehe.. that would be funny... i was thinking a touch of sepia/b&w treatment would be cool... to go crazy, make it look like an old scratchy photo with a 'treasure map' background... overdoing it, perhaps...but fun.
But in all seriousness... this is a really nice image! My only critique is perhaps the money bag is "too bright" as it distracts slightly from the baby. everything is dark browns.
Very cool!

Interesting!! Very cool! Nice grunge. Might be a "tad" much...but it's very fun.
The only drawback, again, is the bag is so overexposed now that it really stands out.
From an artistic point of view (my background is illustration/art) I would use layer masks or something to darken the foreground with the exceptions of a few highlights (especially the bag) and that should enable you to use the lamp as the primary light source, which of course is illuminating the baby...
I just started teaching a class on photoshop, so i'm in "critique" mode (sorry if I type too much). I think it's really a great shot with very cool concept/execution...

I agree the bag is overexposed definitely in the antiqued version, however for me the bag is ok in the original. I find myself looking at the bag now because it was pointed out to me, but then again it's my baby so maybe that's why I focus on him. I'm also not trained in any formal way, just from reading and doing things on my own. I appreciate your help though and am always open to suggestions.

Cute idea but I think the focus fell on the money or the treasure chest. It's still a very cute image and a very cute image.
