It's how many threads you're watching. To get a count click here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription).

Goto User CP
Click on Edit options
Scroll to "Messaging & Notification "
Change the option for receiving emails on threads. This is the default for new threads You subscribe to. Old subscribed threads You need to change manually.

I subscribe by replying to a thread... and rarely I mark something with a "subscribe" button...
Then when I log in, it shows if any of my replied threads have been replied to. Very convenient... now many?
788 and growing. I thought it would be more.

Thats because this feature became available in this form with the change of software in december.

I don't get them for every thread, just the threads I choose. You get one per thread until you next visit.

I have the system set to subscribe me when I reply also. I have 716 right now. Well, make that 717 as soon as I click the submit button.

Um... What if someone has more than 400 and less than 600? I think you're missing an option in the poll.

Don't you get emails whenever someone replies?? Doesn't that get a little overwhelming, even if only a few are active?

Yes, and no. I read threads slowly throughout the day when i'm at work, or if i'm bored all at once. Very few are active, and often I want to know what happens with something someone's trying, or if they post updates.

I subscribe but sometimes when I get the email I click the wrong link and unsubscribe from everything I think. So right now maybe 10. Check out my recent threads I started and comment on some of them, please cause my email is getting lonely ;).

You can subscribe to a thread without having it email you when replies are posted. That's what I do. When I check in here, I go to the "Quick Links" menu above, choose "Subscribed Threads" from the drop down list, and it will show them to me. The ones in bold are the ones that have new replies since the last time I checked.

None. I find it easiest to just hit the new post button and go through the lot. Surely something to interest me in all forums.

OK, I thought it was 0, since I have never knowingly subscribed to a thread.
But somehow I have 1267....
And I'm echoing CDS and PacAce.... What the heck?

I didn't realize you could have a default of Subscribe to every thread. I woke up this morning to a inbox full of about 15 emails from all the threads I posted on yesterday. For some reason I switched it.
I subcribe to usually only the threads I start which is why I don't have that much.

The default setting is to automatically subscribe to all threads that you start or reply to. I have 852 now, and it goes all the way back to 12-15-2004. Maybe it's the last nine months or something along those lines?

I didn't even know what a subcribed thread was and I still don't understand it:o

Subscribed threads let you keep track of conversation, either by emailing you when someone posts to the thread, or put highlighting the thread in your control panel when you look at it.
