My first attempt..........

Hi, this is my first attempt at photography....at least, it is my first attempt where I have actually gone out to search for "that" photo...

I was at a local airport...

Feedback would be most welcome....what did I do right? Wrong? What could I have done better???

It's not too bad. I think it might look good in sepia tone, or with a feint bit of colour on the plane, with the rest of the picture in b&W. Otherwise, it's not bad at all.

First of all welcome to the critique forum.
Now for the image, I find the frame around the it very distracting, it's very heavy and traps the eye. The image itself is interesting but I feel that the placement of the plane in the centre is not quite right - it were placed further to the left it would give it more room in which to move forward.

I agree with the sepia tint as a spot of colour might help - would also like to see the colour image.

Keep going out and pressing the shutter

Not wishing to repeat what has already been said, but the Frame is extremely irritating, keeps drawing your eye to the smudge finish on the left, especially as the image is BW makes it look like somthing out of focus. In future if you think you have THE shot maybe if possible take a couple of shots playing with your framing slightly, then when you have the results you can see what you did and what worked best.
