Hey everyone,

I was wondering if someone could help me out with a problem I have with my 420ex flash. I'v had it ever since I got my 20d when it came out a few years back. Hadn't used the flash in a coulple of months, and I just noticed today that the flash will not sync with the focal length, it always stays on 50 and blinks. It works and seems to expose pictures properly, but I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and if so is there anything I could do to fix it.
I've tried putting 2 new sets of AA batteries in it, as well as using it with multiple lenses (17-40, 28-105, and 100mm macro).

Any suggestions would be great, thanks in advance!

Did you check to make sure that the head is pointed forward and is not in one of the bounce positions. If the head is in a bounce position, the head will zoom to 50mm and the indicator will blink.

I searched all night for this info! My old 420EX is a great flash for my new little SX10is.

Thanks!
