Hey all! New to the forum and digital camera stuff. I recently purchased a canon a95 and reccomending all my friends something else because I dont want them to have the pleasure of the features and quality of this camera. It's so mean but its true. I am not the best picture taking person out there, but my friends say its pretty good. Here are a few that I have taken. Please comment on them and help me make them better.

These are from memorial weekend. I really like playing with the shutter speed on this camera as you can tell, It's really fun.

This is from a trip I took to Kansas City Missouri. It is of the fountain at the Hyatt Hotel.

These show you are getting the hang of the camera's mechanics. I would suggest you think about your composition more, trying to "focus" on your subject and limit other stuff in the scene. Said another way, your shots appear cluttered by things not helpful to the scene. Main thing is, keep at it and don't be afraid to ask for criticism. Also, shots posted here should be limited to 800 pixels on the long side. Larger makes it tough to evaluate the pic.

i'm no mother, but i can't help but think it's bad to be swinging a red hot stick less than a metre from a baby in a crib (re; first pic)
other than that
i'm like u, i LOVE long shutter shots.

and i adore that waterfountain shot, great idea.

as for the frog in the pond shot, i would've tried to get a bit closer and lower down
but who's to know when that frog would plop back under, very good considering.

nice shots,

-matt

The A95 will give you great results. Keep taking pictures and you'll see them getting better all the time... My son has the A95 and loves it. Try using a tripod or monopod as much as you can too. It will make a huge difference in the quality of your shots.

Here's one I took hand held that didn't turn out too bad (not with the A95).
