I got enough minerals and gemstones to start up a small gallery, I invite you to take a look, I still need to update my php+xml coding to allow me to put information on each image ( I got it setup mainly for ease, whenever I wana add a pic I just upload it via FTP the rest is automatic ). For identification purpose:
#1 Peskosky Stone (michigan's official gemstone)
#2 Garnet cluster from china
#3 Pyrite on quarts (the chunk of pyrite is is 1/20th of a centimeter, and is part of the same cluster as the last picture in the article)
#4 small amount of Herkimer Diamonds (about a quart of an inch each, they're not diamonds, but the cuts are naturally formed 18-faced, double terminated points, and ranks a 7 out of 10 on the hardness scale, diamond being 10)
#5 Closeup of the impurities inside of a amatyst crystal.
#6 (1 of 3) Tormaline minerals grown inside of quartz crystal closeup
#7 (2 of 3) same , more full view of the quartz crystal
#8 (3 of 3) Different angle of the same minerals
#9 Pyrite and Quartz cluster (#3 was a tiny portion on the side of this in a nother shot)

More images to come, including the most common types such as agate, tigers eye, cistrine, creedite, other forms of quartz, etc.
