These are really cool! They have a back end editor so you don't need to know code to tweak them! I'm SO getting one of these at this price.

I just thought I'd share since so many people are looking for website solutions and this is such a killer deal.

Wow, I'm definitely buying one! I've been looking for something like this since I'm having a hell of a time designing one of my own in Dreamweaver.

Thank you so much for posting this!

From their website:

Installed on your server by kimtown (please note this is NOT a downloadable product)
Your server MUST be running PHP5 or greater. PHP4 is not supported.
Additions to this template are quoted on a case by case basis.

Doesn't sound like they are hosting.

No. She doesn't do the hosting but you can buy hosting for $6 a month from godaddy.

Ken, it's a great deal! Flash sites from bludomain start at $200. Heck, for $25 you can buy this, hate it, and not feel guilty. ;)

$25 is insanely cheap. The websites are basic but fine, i'd want a couple more information pages and maybe a nicer gallery, but just getting started these are a great deal.

I don't much like GoDaddy as a host, or anything really, they're constantly trying to trick you into buying things you don't need. Also customer support is quite slow, and often quite dumb. You can get hosting from HostGator (http://secure.hostgator.com/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=m96rty-hr) for $5/month, I use them for all my sites, performance is great and service is fantastic. That's an affiliate link btw, if you sign up using that link I get a few bucks.

I assume you know a little about this and might be able to help me? I bought a design, and I'm hung up on one part of this.

On the Design Agreement Form, there's the part where you select your "HEX Color Codes used in your branding", and "Names of font(s) used in your branding or ones you wish to use".

What is the "Branding" thing?

What is your business' primary color? As in, what is the primary color in your logo?

That would be your logo.

Ok, so for example, if I use black and white for my logo, then I would put #ffffff, and #000000 in the box?

I think so.

If you mess it up just bug kim. I they're supposed to be easy to change anyway. I think that just sets up the defaults.

The Diversity Dark. I liked that one the best.

Hmm, why not install something much more robust and free, such as Wordpress, instead?

I don't see the value here, sorry. (maybe I'm biased, because I'm a web developer) I don't know what these offer really. They're proprietary, so if you need changes, you need to talk(pay) Kimtown.

You could just as easily download Wordpress for free, find one of the many thousands of free themes and then install that - especially since you're providing your own hosting. WordPress has one helluva lot more options and control and there is tons of resources available for help, all of which is free.

You get what you pay for, comes to mind here.

I've thought about going the Wordpress route, but I know absolutely nothing about it, or how to customize it.

Unless I'm wrong, this won't be much different. You'll have an admin system to learn, you'll have to put your content into it, and any changes you may want, you'll end up paying for.

At least with WordPress, you have the same thing as millions of other people, have access to hundreds of tutorials on it's use, and access to thousands of add-ons and themes.

To me, if you're going to invest your time in something, invest it better, into something like WordPress or Expression Engine or Moveable Type, etc...

If you're not going to do anything different or just merely need some sort of web presence, then I guess this works. It comes down to how important is a website to you, I guess.

I think I'm gonna start learning about Wordpress, that sounds like something I might be interested in pursuing later on.

For now, I just need a decent looking website with my information and some galleries, so this should be fine for now.

FWIW....Kim does have a free user support forum.

Yes, wordpress is great. I have wordpress. What I'm going to get one of these for is just to link to my galleries from wordpress.
