I thought it was kind of funny that this motel felt "Indoor Plumbing" was bragging material:

Hey, I've always wanted a 150-year-old crumbling wall, and this one is for sale!

Blue glass in a shop window. The Saint Mary's in the Mountains Catholic Church can be seen in the window:

Ya really think he did? (I guess it's a possibility. This was in the basement of the Territorial Enterprise building where he used to work.):

An example of what a prostitute's crib looked like, in the Bullette Red Light Museum, named for Julia C. Bullette, an infamous prostitute from the 1800's:

The Bucket of Blood Saloon. There are several saloons in town. This is my favorite:

There were several old cars in town, such as this 1932 Chevy I found parked at the cemetery:

WOW! great series of shots. I wouldn't mind owning that car. I wonder if American realty has that listed as a handyman special or a fixer upper?   So Mark Twain sat there also, Come to Hartford CT and you can see where he slept, sat, wrote and did everything else.

looks like you had a good ol time, right near my house. I live in foothills of Virgina City. There is a great place to shoot a mile or two outside of VC, its called the American flat.

He did all that there, too. Virginia City is where he started his literary career and adoped the penname Mark Twain.

That's a nice area you live in. I usually visit there once or twice a year. This time I took the Six Mile Canyon road to see where it lead and found another small community at the end of the road. Is that also part of Virginia City or is it another town on it's own? I was guessing that most of the people who work in the historic part of town probably live down there.

Very enjoyable series, Lonnie. Good photos, and a little nostalgia to boot. Haven't been to Virginia City for about 25 years, may have to go back.
