To me, the flowers in the foreground are distracting. It doesn't add anything to the frame but color, but it's color that's blocking your subject. If you'd had a larger depth of field, I might feel differently (might, but still might not). I would also prefer to either see the whole body, without his back end cut off, or just see him from the shoulders up. Having half a dog, and a quarter of a rear leg in the frame isn't the most flattering pose for her (or him).
