Hi all,
These are some of the more recent additions to the lot of pics I have been taking up here. I am truly in awe of it up here. It is unlike anywhere else I have been and well you just have to see it to understand. Ok, so here are the pics...
This is on the Cook Inlet, and the Seward Highway is below, you can barely make it out on the bottom of the 2nd mountain on the left. Rainbow Peak would be over my left shoulder if that helps give you an idea where the pic was taken.

Next, Eagle River Nature Centre henceforth called ERNC. The first one is one of the streams that is a result of glacier melting. Note the colour of the water! I like it a lot! This was also taken in the evening like 7:30PM! Oh yes, that is another cool bit about up here, closing in on 19 hrs from sunrise to sunset! next Wednesday will be 19 hrs, if I remember correctly.

Finally, another from ERNC. This one there is a walkway you can go out on and take pics from, as I did. This one was taken after the one mentioned above, so 8:30PM was the time of the shot. It is great up here!

Nice shots. Summers in Alaska are unreal. Everyday is a new adventure. Where else will your travels take you in this great state of ours?

PM sent. I am really enjoying it here so far, other than it is mosquito hell this time of year. That's the worst of it.

PM sent. Yeah, I know all about the bugs. I was fishing the "Little Su" this past Sunday and the bugs were horrific. Thank God for head nets!!! I wonder what the long term effects of 100% deet are? :lol:

I certainly enjoyed your photos as a reaminder of last year, when we visited Alaska for 2 months. I really like the third shot, as some of my better ones were taken as late as 10 or 11 pm, just as the sun was getting low. I loved it, too.

Probably will cause cancer, and other stuff which I could go into my mother of all disclaimers! :evil:
//sarcasm=off

Speaking of disclaimers, I was doing one of them mentioning acts of God including earthquakes and floods and suchlike and was greeted by that 5.5 we got last month. That was amusing!

weemannie, it is awesome up there in the Highlands too! I was there end April, 04, drove the A9 up thru Lairg to Durness, an came down the A835 thru Ullapool and other towns. We also hit up the Isle of Skye. It woulda been a ton better had the weather cooperated. We had all kinds of fog/low lying clouds. Then down thru Kyle of Lochalsh to Glasgow and back to England. It was a long trip, but well worth it. Just for you I will attach these pics from my trip taken in Scotland...
