I have the Zenitar 16 MM fisheye.. the 50MM f/1.8, the kit lens that came with my 350D, and a 75-300 MM zoom... i think i need one more lens.. something that is smaller than a 50mm but will zoom to about 100mm or a little bigger... The 75-300 is too big for a formal setting like a wedding ceremony where i can stand close to the action and the 50mm while it was / is nice, is still kind of big. Im thinking something like a 28mm or so? or 18 mm-?? (100 0r 150)? I dont care for the kit lens too much, perhaps if it were sharper it would do...... any suggestions??
thanks!

One possibility: sell the kit lens and get a Tamron 28-75/2.8

I use and like the Sigma 18-125mm DC. It's worth what you pay for it, you will find it's build quality better then any lens you currently own, you could save a few pennies by selling your kit lens as well.

Did anyone post a sample shot of Sigma 18-125mm?

As you can see I have the kit lens and the 28-300 Tamron (very pleased with both despite many comments to the contrary!). I had the kit lens on its own for 6 months and missed the reach I had wioth my old EOS100 75-300APO - hence the Tamron. However, I find I miss the wide angle end given 28x1.6. I think the 18-125 would be an ideal upgrade from the kit lens but there is also the 18-200 Tamron/Sigma lenses out there - which are pretty close to the 28-300!!!

Any thoughts? By the way I'm keeping my 13yo 50mm 1.8 just in case!

COOL. Im looking for something i can be close to the subject with, i liked the 22 - 200 range on my pro 1. i wouldnt mind the 18 - 55 of the kit lens but its just not sharp enough.. but something with a farther reach...say, 100, 150 mm or so? This way i could prety much leave it on the camera as a "walk around" lens and have the best of both worlds.. but i want sharpness...
thanks!

yes, i'd sell the kit lens and get the tamron. you're probably going to get an ok deal on ebay for your kit lens.
if you're doing weddings consider an 85mm ?

well, im not doing weddings for a living. I just did my first last weekend and it was a dister! lol I like more still life, maybe ill try a few portraits and pets. i just like to shoot.

so, i just bought the tamron, 28-200mm from B&H... It should work out ok as a good walk around lens... no? ,should have it by Monday, I'll let you guys know what i think of it. I allmost went for the canon version ( i think it was 28 - 200) with Image Stabelization but it was like $350.00 or something like that. So i got the tamron for 150 bucks cheaper!!

this was taken outside with the 420ex speed lite, with the 50MM f/ 1.8 lens. I have only desaturated it and played with the exposure a tad, this family has very fair skin and the girls are almost gost like they are so white. http://claremontfarm.com/cgi-bin/i/debbies%20wedding/debbie%20(166).jpg

ok... i now have the Tamron 28-200 in my hot little hands. I only had a chance to snap off a few shots around the house yesterday but i am impressed! First off, dont ask me why but i opted for the siler version, it looks ok but i kinda think the black would have looked nicer on the camera. That being said, i really like this lens, it came with the lens hood and i can leave it on.. thank god because my camera case is too small and id have to carry it on a chain around my next because it wouldnt fit in the bag... lol The lens seems to take nice sharp pics... the zoom ring is kinda tuff to turn, its not like my canon 75-300 thats for sure! I do like the AF and the "anti-Zoom" feature... (it locks the lens from zooming.. no more "zoom-creeping" . And i can get alittle closer to my subject now, which is a pluss... hey, stupid question.. how do we post photos in the message body on this site??
thanks!
