Anyone know where I could buy the Tamron 28-75 Canon mount online? I have looked everywhere and they seem to be out of stock! Some places I have found them in stock do not have good reseller ratings.

I couldn't find the Tamron anywhere. So I bought the Sigma 24-70/2.8. I'm glad I did.

Any problems ordering from nycv.com? I haven't seen to many comments about them in the forum. They seem to be the only place that has the lens in stock...

Why does everyone overlook Adorama? I just bought mine there.

Edit: Woah, its out of stock there now. It was just in stock not so long ago. Maybe I bought the last one.

At B&H it sells out in 10 minutes whenever they're in stock. I was lucky enough to grab it in under those 10 minutes.

Such an awesome lense.

Someone posted a heads up in the Classifieds section here for this place, noting that they were local and had plenty of the Tamron's in stock. I placed an order that afternoon(5/17) online with NYCV and paid for next-day shipping. I had it the next day. I even exchanged a couple emails with a fellow at NYCV and they seemed top notch. They had a good price on it, had it in stock, and I had mine the next day. I give them a thumbs up!

I just picked one up today at my local camera shop. $389. Camera Wholesalers in Stamford,CT. I don't have the number (I'm at work) They might be able to ship it to you.

I have also been on the waiting list for this lens for a few weeks. Adorama, B&H, Amazon, Ritz all were out of stock. I actually ordered one through nycv.com this past Friday, but later found out by phone, all they had left was a display model so I decided to pass. You might want to call first before placing the order online. (They were very professional and went out of there way to search for one though)

Of course after this, I was as impatient as my three year old son and had to get one! I was able to find one through a local chain in my area (Hunts/ SBI). They had only one left between all their stores, and it should arrive today.

BTW, the salesman originally quoted me $490.00 for it, and I have spent a decent amount of money in their store before. I explained to him I prefer to buy my equipment from local vendors, but cant justify paying a 33% increase over the online vendors. He put me on hold and came back with a price of $390.00, so some retailers will work with you (but only if you ask!)

So what is the deal with this lens? Is it that good or are they having manufacturing issues?
