Happy you like the picture.
I was thinking that there was too much green , but the comment " so naturally monocromatic" make me feel better.
About the camera (G3), what I can say is that I love it, it can make
very good pictures if the light and subject are OK and , of course, you
know how to use it efficently.
Focussing is done manually by moving the camera and it is not easy to
get a good idea of the focus on the lcd ...
This shot was hand held , because the bugg was changing place very
quickly.

What a fantastic shot, i have a G6 and hove yet to take a good shot of an insect like that. I hav'nt used the G6 on manual focus yet, i set mine to supermacro and pre-focus like you should and wait for the green square to let me know thats it in focus, is setting it to manual easier and quicker, please let me know as i'm very interested in achieving even better macro shots like your grasshopper.......?

The shot below is the closest thing i've got to getting close to the bug world as well as a spider....The spider shot is ok but the back is a bit messy..?

I found myself easier to use manual focus for insects.
About your macros, the snail is gorgeous .

JoseC that is another great macro, we have being getting a great supply of brilliant macros over hte last few days.

I like how his body solour matches the plant so well, A lot of macros have high colur contrasts even more so than regular photography, so it is nice to see a composition like this.
