BG-E2N vs. EG-E7

I know these two grips not not cross-compatible, but what are the differences? I am considering buying a 7D. I have a BG-E2N for my 50D but I never use it unless I am in a situation where I am using burst alot and I can't risk setting the camera down to change the batteries.

7D owners: Do you find yourself using the BG-E7 grip more often? If so, what exactly did they add to make life more easier for you?

The differences tie back to the differences in the batteries of the two cameras. The contacts for the BP511 and the LP-E6 aren't the same place, and the batteries are slightly different sizes. I didn't get a grip for my 7D. I quickly sold off the grip for my 20D and never got one for the 5D or 5D2 either.
