I feel quite silly but where does one upload the photos? I had no problem installing the program, the mysql messages were all fine. I can find no documentation about setting up the first gallery so I thought I would ask here.
Thanks in advance.

Depending on what you have named the "input" folder when you installed it should be something like this.
www.*****.com/gallery/input/UPLOAD

I tried that and still nothing. I have read and re-read the directions in the FAQ and for the life of me I still do not see a place to put photos. Basically the FAQ repeats itself over and over about paths for thumbs and microthumbs, which I have set to match my domain, and still nothing.
This script looked pretty enticing but the documentation is very lacking. I guess I'll have to look for something else.
Thanks for your help.

It looks like you know know what FTP is and file structure.
You send all photos to the Upload folder.
Create a new Exhibition
Edit the Exhibition data and settings
Then you click on the Upload page and select all photos, and upload it to the corresponding gallery
There is a good amount of work at first to set up lenses, Camera, detail, EXIF, etc, but once you have all that info it is fast.

I think I will just have to throw in the towel on this script. I do not see an upload page to click on so I cannot follow your advice. After I first installed the script, which happened with no problems, I created an exhibition folder based upon the structure that the default set of photos that came with the script had.
I chmodded it to 777 along with the big, big_hq, medium, medium_hq, microthumb, small and thumb subdirectories.
Then I made sure the paths in path editor matched and made sure there was one default that I chose from the photo editor and the script still does not find the pic. I uploaded the photo with FTP to the new exhibition directory, and I also uploaded it to the UPLOAD directory an earlier poster suggested creating.
I can navigate directly to the pic, no problem.
It's really frustrating as the script looks like it would be useful but since it is so hard to get working I guess I will try and find something else.
I'm well acquainted with phpmyadmin, but I sure hate to have to go uninstall all the tables and start over with something else.
Thanks for the help.

One question: what EE version are you using? EE 1.5RC4 handles directory creation, resizing and transfer to correct folders automatically once you set up ftp, resize methods and paths (one time setup).
ONe EE specific thing: each exhibition has a setting for its thumbnail path and microthumbnail path. You choose them in exhibition editor.

I downloaded 1.22 from your site thinking that was the latest release version. Apparently there is not an UPLOAD directory in that version plus other assorted choices that these folks who were responding know about, but that the average person downloading your software for the first time would have no clue about.
I occasionally run beta version of software that I am very familiar with but in this case I just wanted the latest stable release. Now I am finding out, quite late in the game, that 1.22 seems to be yesterdays news.
Might I suggest that you add some sort of verbage to your download page that makes it clear that 1.22 is way different than the version you all are talking about here?
From what I have read of the beta docs the two versions seem to be worlds apart.
