So, I've been spoiled.
My Elinchrom 400BX's are great.
The spoiled part is that I'm use to all the remote settings that I was capable of doing with all my 580EX(ii)'s Speedlite's.
You know, the setting all power levels at your fingertip's. (E-TTL Auto or Wireless manual)
I remember the last time I setup my 400BX on a boom as a hairlight and was annoyed about lowering it, setting it, putting it back up and try again.
So I was thinking about maybe trading up one of my 400BX's for a newer BXRi.
This would mean getting rid of the CyberSync's and getting Skyport's, not too big a deal.
Now I can set it remotely with little hassle.
Granted the WYSIWYG will not be exacting now with the different lights, but I remember reading that can be automatically compensated for with the BXRi's.
Than I thought about the whole USB Skyport thing and the cool video's I saw and just the whole remote thing makes me smile a little bit more.
So, the above being said, I have a couple questions that I would like to ask some of you.
First off, users who have physically held or or own both the 400BX and the BXRi's at the same time. How did the tilt mechanism's compare to each other strength built wise.
(I'm one of those weight paranoid people.)
Second, anyone who has used Skyport's remote setting capability and/or the USB piece, how well did it work and how did you like it?
I'm going to assume the whole USB dongle fancy setting thing will work with the BXRi, or is that a bad assumption?
Thanks all...
