There's so many threads, options, configurations, pricings on different websites....AHHHHHHHH!!! I've spent the last 4 hours reading the forums and am more confused now than before.
Currently I have the 055xproB w/ 486rc2 - super solid, great, but heavy. I'm going to Europe in December and don't want to lug this thing around so am thinking about selling off the legs and buying something carbon fiber but without breaking the bank on $1000. Would be nice, but I just can't.
Today at a camera show I saw the 190cxpro4 which seemed perfect and decently priced. But then I saw there's the 190cxpro3 (do I want 3 sections or 4?). THEN there's the 055cxpro3 and 4.
Gitzo is too expensive so I can rule that out. I saw some Induro tripods at Vistek and have heard mixed reviews on them. I also don't know their model lineup well enough to compare the 2190 and 055's. Also, is the 486 an ok head to keep?
Some of the other suggested brands on the site aren't carried in stored in Toronto so without being able to touch them or feel them it's hard to know.
Ultimately, I want as light as possible that will hold a 5D, grip and 24-70 and be as compact as possible.
Sory for another thread...help guide me please so I can finally just sleep!!!
