Shepard Fairey admits wrongdoing...

So all the people who jumped in to defend this guy, basically he stole a photographers work, or am I still wrong?

He claimed that he got his "inspiration" for the poster from another photo taken that day. He now admits that it was the photo that the AP claimed it was. The poster looks to be pretty much an exact copy of that photo.

He previously claimed it was something of a coincidence that it looked so much like the photo that the AP said he used and actually counter-sued the AP with that claim.

Here is a post of mine from that thread showing that the poster was a direct copy.

I might have to disagree. The only difference between the painting and photo (besides the stylizing) is that Fairey rounded off some edges and moved the neck/suit a bit.

Sorry, that is more than simply being inspired. It is a blatant copy.
