Hey there all,
Thanks to ll who gave me the info on strobes and strobe lighting.
I ended up getting 3 "Flashpro" 400 heads and the rest of the kit etc.
so hear are ome pics of the maternity shoot that i just did. as always if you can give me some more tips it would be much appreciated.
i was trying to light the belly more and create some nice shadows to contrast the bub to be.

Shots seem good enough, maybe some shadow control learning is necessary, but it comes with time. I can't offer much more because I loathe maternity photos, but enjoy the new gear!

dragonimage (http://www.dragonimage.com.au/product.asp?id=1489).... these guys were super helpful, kinda guys that werent just after the sale..spent 1 1/2 just going through options for different photos... cant recommend them enough.
Yeah the shadow thing i am working on, i actually like the shadow style( to a degree) compared to fully perfectly exposed image. that first one i wish ide bounced a reflector of some sort up to add to the face... a little over the top i know!;)

Agreed that shadows are harsh. Also, her hair is in the dark. I find the 3rd photo to be strange, it almost look like the little girl is sucking on her bellybutton.

Forgot to mention - the lighting in the 3rd shot looks really good to me.
