While the circles of fire are nice, I'd have liked at least a part of the person sharp...
Also, I'd use a dark background. Certainly not something lit, like in #1 and 4.

#2 and 3 would have been better with a shutterspeed about a stop faster: Less overexposed (it's a night event, it *should* be dark) and less camera shake.

Most people probably dont set up in a studio to get a dark background when playing with fire. I sure wouldnt... And from watching people do this in the past, its not always easy to stand perfectly still when your slinging fire around.

2 is your best.

Who's talking about studio or standing still?

I'm talking about choosing your background (by simply turning yourself and the 'model' the other way (away from the neon lights in #1 or lit (?) sea in #4) and /or choosing an appropriate exposure.
As for the standing still: High ISO, fast lens, choose shutterspeed to give reasonable motion in the fire, yet have at least a chance of freezing the people (more or less), time well, shoot much and hope for the best. (large part of that last)

I appreciate the feedback it gives me some point to improve on next time i have the same opportunity...
But yes it's a bit hit and miss under the circumstances and i had to learn on the run wish i new then what i know now...

2nd photo is the best. :)
