I thought this was an interesting article. It look like Microsft is going to support RAW files in the next version of Windows. It also looks like there will be some kind of RAW viewer coming out in a few weeks for XP!!!

Great news!!!!
I always wonder why there is no native support for RAW files.

Hmm, iPhoto in OS X already does this: it can view, catalog, mildly edit, and print RAW from many cameras. And it's free with the OS. But it'll be nice to have that XP utility so I can do the same on my PCs.
However, leave it to Microsoft to say they've found a solution to a problem when some people already have the ability. As far as Longhorn is concerned -- notice they don't really say how it's going to be implemented or what the features will be? The only thing they've said is, Longhorn will feature "support" for RAW. The rest of the article is just stuff we already know.
As welcome as this is, I just see this as more Microsoft propaganda. They've been dumping so many of the major planned features of Longhorn (the ones that are actually useful) that they have to toss out a bone.
Note that I'm not trying to start a platform war. I use both.
