Does anyone have any first hand knowledge regarding the quality/ consistency of the d60 and converting its files to Cymk files to submit to printers / clients. I know many people have made beautiful inkjet, etc., prints, some say up to 20x24, but what about full range cymk printing.
Thanks,
Sanford

I've used photoshop's conversion for lots of images which have been reproduced in magazines up to 5x7. With a calibrated monitor and good profile from the printer, it seems flawless. I'm not sure why there would be a need for anything else.

all you need for color consistency is just to have your monitor calibrated, and your printer profiled. and make sure you're using an ICC-aware application (like photoshop 7) to do the conversion.

An ICC aware application and the printer driver takes care of convertion from a RGB space to a CMYK. Do not convert a file to CMYK before sending it to the printer because that is done automatically behind the scene by the printer driver.

I can not stress more about profiling everything! I profile all my input and output devices - Camera, Flatbed scanner, Printer and monitor. So I can use any third party ink and paper to print very accurate color corrected non archival photos.
