Here are two of my best from the 2008 USMC Air Show at Miramar, CA. I know, not saying much, but I like them (plus, I was only one year in to photography). Shot with my 40D and a 75-300MM non-IS. I did a little better at this year's air show. It was partly cloudy, so it was very tough to shoot in... shade/sun/shade/sun... etc. These two photos were shot on the same day. The coloring in the sky was the same bright blue, but when ever I'd hit clouds, it would make everything gray. I'm assuming it's the metering??? Don't know much about that yet.

I'd love feedback.

I think they were all taken with the 300mm 2.8 + 1.4 TC except for 'Excalibur' which was with the 100-400

I've probably got plenty more if I could ever get around to processing them. I normally like to mess around with low shutter speeds for at least one section of a show!

Thanks for the reply. I have a 40D and thought it wasn't able to produce stunning images, like a lot of those that I see in the forums. However, I'm starting to see it's my lens and post processing (or lack there of) that are most likely holding me back.

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Here are the updated photos. I'm working from my work laptop, so I have no edititng software (other than the generic HP software that came with my work printer). I did try to make the pictures "pop" a little more, but one washed out the background, the other looks a little better, but I think the yellow is too bright.

Just got back from the airport... ISO 1600, Nifty @ f/1.8 for 1/20s. 65% crop due to lack of reach, no NR at all and USM with 0.2 radius and 500%. It is not very good, but it is the best of the 4 shots I took.
