I must be missing something. I set my EOS 20D to jpg + Raw setting, but when I download them onto my computer using Microsoft Camara and Scanner Utility, I can only seem to find the jpg's. I've tried opening these jpg's in Canon's Digital Photo Professional but again, it only shows jpg's and only allows me to edit them in the RGB window. What am I doing wrong? Why can't I find my Raw images????

Do you plug the camera into your computer via USB or do you use a card reader?

Are you sure Microsoft camera and scanner utility supports the raw files? I have my doubts that it does. You should be using one of the Canon programs that came with the camera, PSCS or some other raw editing program that recoginze the 20D raw files.

Which shooting mode do you use? Tv, Av, P can produce RAW + Jpeg, other modes only Jpeg.

Actually it does. That's how I transfer my raw files.
No clue what the problem is in this case though...

As Eugene suggested, check to make sure that you are using one of the Creative Zone modes so that RAW+JPEG is enabled. If you are in Basic Zone modes, then you'll get only JPEG.

The file size is a tip off.

Thanks for pointing that out to me. I just tried it on my computer for the first time (using a 10D), and you are absolutely right. I thought the Scanner and Camera utility was a photo editing software but I guess it's just used to transfer files from the camera (or scanner) to the computer. :)
I wonder if DreamXpert has the 20D driver installed already on his computer?

Has it ever worked before and just now isn't working? Or are you trying this for the first time with the 20D?

No, it's never worked. I can't imagine what could be wrong.

Why not use the Canon File Utility program (or similar) that came with your camera instead of trying to smash the files through some microsoft crap?

I had the same problem when trying to transfer the pics directly from the camera to the computer using USB2 port, and the camera software. The RAW files did not show up. I got a Lexar card reader, it runs on the firewire port, and it imports them really quickly.
I have no idea what the problem was or is, but it's solved.
