Is the HD-series or the PRO 1 series Hoyas best quality filters? Hard to figure out from their own webpages so I ask you guys. Thank you for your answers beforehand!:)

Hi.
I have emailed them back when the HD series were launched and they replied back stating the new HD series would be considered their top line.

Don't know why I am having trouble editing the last post. Anyway, here's the quote from their reply to my email:

Thank you for your attention and interest in Hoya filters.
Please be informed that we qualify HD Series as the highest grade on our line-up.
For reference, please refer to the following advantage of HD Series.

-Chemically enhanced optical glass is 4x stronger than other models.
-Water and oil repellent.
-Scratch and stain resistant

Best regards,

I was under the impression that the HD were very strong and easy to clean, but the Pro 1D were better optically. I ended up buying the B+W MRC instead.

There is the before-digital Pro, which was a slim version CPL with light transmission at 99.7% like the SHMC, and the Digital Pro filter which was no better than the lesser HMC filter at 97%. The HD is claimed to have 99.35% transmission

I have both the HD and Pro 1 series. Optically I don't notice any difference at all. They are both very, very good. I always leave them on, even for night shoots. The HD is a lot more sturdy and easy to clean however, so I prefer them.
