This truck caught on fire near work today. No injuries, but a total loss.

I wonder if that's one of the cruise control switch shorts that they have recalled them over? I find it odd that a cruise control switch can cause a fire, but that's what they say!

That was not the airbag blowing by the looks of things. It looks more like the water hit something Magnesium in the vehicle that was burning. Doing a little research it looks like Ford uses Magnesium radiator supports which would be about the right area for your "explosion" if you will.

What caused it?
most likely cause is a faulty cruise control switch, Ford had major problems with those from like 97-03 or so, and they for whatever reason cause the vehicles to spontaneously combust.
hope mine doesn't do this! I will not be a happy camper.
