No, Really please C&C. What could I have done to make this pic better? Different crop? should I have used the flash for fill in?(even though it was pretty bright out at the time)

Great DOF control but the image seems flat. Perhaps a bit of a boost in contrast?

Photos of children are better without the grins and all the teeth. The real keepers are the ones that capture pensive moments or other thoughful times. And I agree with the contrast comment. A boost there might help. You want the sharpest spots to be the eyes; you seemed to have focused a bit in front - cheeks and hands, maybe.

Guys you hit it on the head with the contrast adjustment. I knew there was something wrong(it being flat) I just couldn't put my finger on it. Thanks alot.. And I know what you mean Barb about catching them off guard when they're in thought or something similar. Thanks again. You guys really helped me out.
