Is this the clone of the Gitzo 2 series explorer? The specs look almost identical except for the max load. The few reviews I could find were generally positive. Is there any good reason for a non-pro to spend the extra $280 ($380 if you count the bag) for the Gitzo?

What I've read says that the Induro is a rebadged Benro. If I were going to buy, I'd look at Feisol first (www.feisol.net) or Benro

I looked at the Benro C-298M8 and it looks like it has a longer center column (higher max height) than the Induro and weighs a little less (3.7lb vs. 4.1lb). I wonder what that weight difference comes from. The Benro is also a bit cheaper but has a 1 year warranty as opposed to 5.

I picked up my Induro CX214 and absolutely love it. its the perfect height with a DM-23 Induro ballhead for a person whose 6' tall.

its easily configurable to horizontal. it gets nice and low. and if you want to get super low, switch the center column upside down entirely and you can get it touching the ground.
