Thanks Cyclop - This is from a guards tower and the train tracks you see are where the incoming prisoners would disembark and be sent either right or left - directly to the gas chambers or, if deemed healthy enough, to the work camp. Sobering.

I can remember that day when I visited Auschwitz and Birkenau 2 years ago.

Thanks for the comments, my wife and I just returned from a 2 year assignment in Poland and were living about 90 minutes from Auschwitz and went there several times with people visiting us. Each time was moving even though we had been there before. Here's another one from Birkenau.
