My 8-Month Old Daughter

I just recently bought a studio-type strobe and an umbrella, so now I get to take even more pictures of my little girl. Here's a couple with the new light. Let me know what you think, and what things I can do to improve. Thanks for looking.

This last one was just for fun, but I kinda like how it turned out - must be because I love the face she's making.

I think you did a fantastic job! However on the last one with the black backdrop, it looks like you have some burning streaks going on beside your little girl?

I love these the first looks like the focus fell on the dress and the last with the black BD I agree needs a little more PPing. I do, however, think the WB is a little off. Her skin has a lot of magenta or red in it.

You can definitely tell. Someone loves orange food like squash or carrots!! (the little orange nose gives it away) :)

I can't see it on my computer, but don't doubt one bit that it's there. I've done that before on other pictures and caught myself - burn to where it looks good on my screen, but can clearly see the burn streaks on another computer. I'll to pay more attention to that.

I used one Impact VS300 with a 60" umbrella behind the camera. I bought the light as a used demo item from B&H for cheap, but can't find much information about it online.

Sweet potatoes, she loves them! That's funny you say that - someone at the grocery store said that to my wife the other day but both of us thought "no way, that can't be true". Maybe we should start feeding her more peas and broccoli.

Thanks, justincase724 for answering my questions. I never thought to look at BandH for used lighting. The pics are really nice, I am going to get out my black backdrop and one light behind the camera and see what I can come up with.

I tell my clients to stop orange foods at least a week if not more prior to our session. In person it's not as apparent esp to parents who see her everyday....but in images WOW.... it really shows up...

I think it's so cute. now only if my 5yo had an orange nose....
