What would you pay to have your patrol car like one of these ? :D :D

BTW, this is no joke. In the whole country we have only two of them, used for special services. But these are real patrol cars with all the official equipment.

No speed limits to follow... :D

Edit to add: for those that are not into cars, those are Lamboghini Gallardo. 5 liters engine, 500 HP, 310 Km/h (self limited).

Actually, the two Gallardo are used mainly for ER (they have almost the same equipment of an ambulance on board, toghether with the standard police equipment) on the highway. But I won't be in the trousers of the bad guys... I believe that the Gallardo is the fastest car money can buy at least here. It seems that even speeding fines decreased in the area where they are located :D

Maseratis!

Round the US side, there are the occasional Mustang or Camaro highway chase car. They're pretty fast, but I'd rather be in one of the Lambo's. :)

Either way, I'm not sure I want one in my rear-view mirror.

I've never liked the look of the Gallardo. I'm more of a Diablo type of guy.

Those are some serious low profile lights. I read on the net somewhere that Lamborgini gave these to the police... though I cannot remember why.

PR guy probably got a speeding ticket and wanted to keep his licence :-)

Nice wheels, and although I'd love to have a go, I don't think I want to replace it for my police vehicle.........

Roberto, sorry I forgot to add that I think the images are great, and having recently bought a 20D (my first DSLR) I am please to see what excellent results can be achieved with it.

Thanks for sharing, and if you post any images of Rome (my favourite place after home) I would love to see them.

Jax, the 20D (I have had mine for 3 days now, and yesterday I took it on the parade where I took these pics... about 900 shots, I am still sorting so nothing to see at the moment.) is just great. And it couples perfectly with the 350D, that is lighter but almost with the same image quality.

As for the pics of Rome, sure I have a lot of them but being old stuff I need to find the time to first scan - those are all film slides - sort and place them on digitalpics.it. It will happen, sooner or later :)

Some Rome shots are in the "Night Shots" section of my gallery. Will add some more during the winter, from now until endo of October, during the night is almost impossible to stay out taking pictures, too many tourists hanging around. I like pics without people but I have to work and I cannot go out at 4:30 AM during the week (that would be the best time, especially in summer...) And during the weekends at 4:30 AM there is a lot of people still hanging around, in summer :(

BTW, I posted the same pic in a gun related forum that I follow. Funny thing, here nobody noticed the half uniform of the guy to the right of the car in second pic. On the other forum, where a lot of LEOs are around, they immediately spotted the uniform. Anyway, here is the full character.
