After reading here about the Sigma 500 Super I ordered one to use with my Rebel XT. I have read the manual several times, but still need some questions answered....

On the Flash LCD in Auto Mode (ETTL) the bounce indicator blinks anytime the flash is at 0 degrees. If I tilit the flash head up to 60 or 90 the little icon stops blinking.

The manual states the flash unit doesn't agree with the angle I'm using, or the batteries are bad. I've replaced the batteries, so I can only assume the flash doesn't like to be ponted forward. Does anyone have experience with this blinking bounce icon in the lower Left hand corner of the LCD?

Many Thanks!!

Jesse

It is possible to push the head down further than the zero degrees position. This causes the indicator to flash. Lift it up just a little and you should find a natural rest point. The correct "straight ahead" position is NOT all the way down... that's what the indicator is telling you. Same thing on the Canon flashes.

Thanks I bet your right. Last night I was looking at the flash and was trying to see how I could get the 7 degree down bounce. I thought to myself, it won't go any further down. Of course it couldn't I was already there. I'll correct the issue when I get home. Thanks again!
