I was looking for material to shoot with my new Canon 50mm Macro lens, when I spotted these on my roses. I keep seeing those beautiful macro shots of insects and I have been trying to emulate them. So far, no luck. Trying to balance F stop, iso, holding the camera still... well maybe some day.

The best thing for shooting aphids is washing up liquid. I use a 400mm prime bottle myself :D

Seriously, with the 50mm Macro, you really a tripod
