This was taken in 1999 in "La Sierra de Oaxaca". This plant has to grow for 15 years before people can be able to extract tequila and mezcal from it.

Yes, that's why a good tequila and specially a good mezcal is so expensive ;)

I thought that most tequilla came from the blue agave. ???

There are different kinds of Maguey (Agave). this one is called Papalome and it's mostly used to make mezcal, but you can make tequila out of it as well ;)

So THAT'S what those plants look like that seem to wreak havoc in peoples lives. :lol:
