Can i ask if the 200 aw will hold the 450d gripped with the 70-200 F4 L attached from the side, or will i need the 300 AW?

I dont want to buy the 200 and find it doesnt slot in properly from the top. My trekker II doesnt fit camera with lens attached so need a new bag.

thanks

Not sure what you mean by "from the side". If you mean lying horizontally, yes theres loads of room.

Everything depends on how you lay out the interior. Yes, the 200AW backpack is big enough for either my 70-200 f/2.8L attached to a gripped 30D, or the same camera with a 100-400L, both with or without 1.4 converter.

I often switch the interior layout around, depending on what I want to carry. In fact I once managed to squeeze a 500 F4 L without hood in, but decided to carry it seperately.

And before anyone says thats not a 30D, it's my Eos3 - I took the snap with the 30D.

Have you had the chance to use the laptop compartment for your 200AW yet? I'm thinking about getting one for use as a transporter/occasional work out of bag and there seems to be concern that it can't take a 17" laptop like my HP Pavilion dv9000 series. The specs say it should fit (both HP and Lowepro) and my tape measurements suggest it'll fit, but I don't want to spend on a bag where the specs might be off. (I may have to fly someday, otherwise I'd get the 300AW and be done with it).

I cannot advise you on the laptop as I don't own one.

Look into the M-Rock Arches, many call it a 250. It is right between the two in sizing, and fits my gripped bodies with a 70-200 attached.
