#3 is there for interests sake... I was wondering whether the Sigma 500mm + 1.4x TC was up to handling motorsport. It would seem so.

Great shot #1 I really like it
Is that the Sigma 500mm F4.5 EX you use.
I have the lens and think its great, just a bit on the heavy side tho

Thanks people :)
Andy: Well, he looked so happy it seemed a shame not to ;)
Littlenose: The first one was shot straight through a mesh debris fence... the fence pentrating radar on the 1D Mark II is remarkably effective ;)
Dandaman_24: Yup, that's the beasty. It is fairly heavy but I use a monopod nearly all the time so I don't find it much of an issue.

Yeah, number 1 is really cool. I also like the way you brought out car #62 from the rest of the rush hour traffic in the second one.
You're right, you haven't shared in a while. Glad to see you back.

Nice stuff... I like #1 a lot... but #2 wins for me as it has a real sense of manic racing action!

I love your work. I currently have a Canon 300 2.8 that I shoot motorsport with, but have been very intregued by the Sigma 120-300 since I bought the 70-200 hsm. Sigma's high end seems to have it's act together now. I like the idea of 120-300 as it would offer more shooting flexibility. You almost have me there pulling the trigger to buy the lens. Everytime you post - you inch me that much closer . I am not sure if I should thank you or curse ya.... either way - great work.

 Thanks :)
I am VERY fond of my Sigma 120-300mm so don't expect me to say much to discourage you. The Canon 300 f/2.8 you have is a glorious lens, though, it's probably the best lens ever made for motorsport.
