Anyone know where I can get the S90 in the UK for less than £400? I tried one retailer that is advertising it for £379 but when I phoned he had no stock.

Redbox Cameras (http://www.redboxcameras.com) had it for £379, until I bought the first one and they put it back up to £399.
They're in Royal Tunbridge Wells if you can get there, you don't have your location under your avatar.

Ordered mine from www.crazycameras.co.uk at £353 delivered. I registered and put the camera in my basket, left it there for 30 minutes and got an email from them offering a £12 coupon code to use on my 'next' order so I winged it and put the code in on what was my first order, the price immediately dropped from £365.

Thanks. But after doing a quick Google of crazycameras I found out they are grey imports so no UK warranty with Canon and they don't get good reviews. They also seem to be US based from what I read.

yeah, i personally wouldn't order something this expensive from them, based on the negative reviews and the lack of UK warranty.

Looks like I may have to hang on for a while. Amazon has it listed but not directly from them. Just their normal sellers. Jessops is actually listed at £449 so even with the various discounts it - now - doesn't work out that cheap. Jacobs is £399. Other suppliers seem iffy. I am waiting for an email from another supplier who said they will email me when it's in. I tried phoning them and got no answer (Just kept ringing) so not so sure about them even though they got good reviews.
Guess I will have to be patient.

Crazy Cameras rang me last night to thank me for my S90 order and say it would be dispatched in 5-7 days with DHL tracking. They offer their own 12 month warranty, offer extended warranty and say the Canon warranty stands. They are indeed US based but they claim there will be no import duty to pay. I will report back as things progress.

I wish you luck with that. I just don't want to have to think about it. There is another dealer who said when they get some in they will email me and they are doing a good deal (£379 + free 4Gb flash, mini tripod, case, 3 year warranty and free delivery) and have good reviews. But they ran out after getting a small amount in yesterday. New stock is expected next week.
Although I want one ASAP I am not desperate and would rather wait and get a good deal.

Just a heads-up that Jessops is back down to £399 (£379 with voucher code AUTUMN20 or you could do the QuidCo thing)

I can recommend Ian Kerr (Kerso round here). Just email him for a quote, mine was considerably better than I've seen so far in UK.

Ive used Ian for lenses in the past. Good service and very good prices.
The only thing is these are not UK models (AFAIK) so warranty might be an issue if anything goes wrong.

That's true about not being UK models, but I have just successfully registered the S90 on the Canon Europe website and Ian provides a UK receipt (which I've used previously for cashbacks!). He even pops a UK adaptor in the box - nice touch. I was willing to take the risk for the saving involved.

Yaaaay! My Quidco cashback is not validated. So a total saving of a £100 off retail. Thanks for the heads up.
EDIT: I meant is NOW validated (Slip of the fingers).

www.warehouseexpress.com have it for £399 with a free battery and sometimes a free memory card.
If you are close to the brighton area then Park cameras ( www.parkcameras.com ) have them as well for £399 but no freebies. They are a full on store though so you get some great customer service and a real live person. I just got mine from there yesterday :D

What was funny was going to the Jessops store in Bromley. It was there for £449. I asked to play with it for a while. Said I will think about it. Came back an hour later with the web order plus 5% discount so got it there and then for £379. Told him I also would get about £35 back from Quidco. He looked at me kinda funny :)

I just hope it does not go wrong for you as warranty is unlikely to be covered in the UK. You will have to send it back to the retailer probably.
Good luck in any case.

Warranty on all Canon cameras is carried out by three specialists in the UK - A J Johnstones in Scotland, one in Colchester and another in Stoke. They are not really interested were you bought the camera from only proof of purchase. I sent my G10 to the Johnstones for the warranty repair work on the sensor that many users were seeing so I have 'form' with them. Besides all my documentation says I bought the camera from crazycamera.co.uk, paid in sterling and I did not pay any import duty - it came through without customs clearance. No different than buying from someone like Pixmania who are based in France.
Crazy Cameras even supplied a UK charger adapter.
