When I try to post pics, it will only take sizes so big. So I go into photoshop, hit image, resize and start at about 600 and let the second number choose itself. Then when I hit save, it asks what quality, and I find that I need to be in 5-6 range (12 being highest quality) Now I can post, but the image quality goes down horribly compared to some postings that people are putting on. How do I get my clear shots on the forum, still looking clear?
I have included a pic as an example of the loss of quality.

And type slow, I am photoshop challenged, and get confused quite easily! Actually, it's a skill (being confused) that I work at very hard every day!

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Oh, and if someone has a really nice 70-200 2.8 IS that they don't want and are willing to give it away, I can provide my address!

Size the photo at max 800 at the longest adege.
Then use save for web and use medium quality jpeg. This strips off exif information which is most likelt the reason why Your photo is too big to be uploaded. The exif infortion takes up around 20-30 kb.

"use medium quality jpeg" or whatever gets you the quality you need. You might need to go lower with some prints that have a lot of small detail. Use the 2-up viewing option to see what works the best.
Be aware that 800 on a vertical pic may be too big to see all at once on a 19" monitor, & if you want critique on composition, you might not get it. 550 V & 700 H works pretty well for everyone.

I have neen using pixresizer or irfanview to batch resize for both posting and keeping on my P2000. 640x480 at about 70% JPEG quality seems to fit the 100kb limit and quality is not too bad.
