Hi,
These are pictures of our two little girl kittys when they were a couple of months old. Puddy is the browner of the two. She is also the one who's eyes have "green" eye. I haven't figured out how to correct it in Photoshop yet. If anyone can give me any hints on how to fix this I would appreciate it.
Thanks, Pam

Very nice cats, I especially like the second shot.

Cute kitties!

This took a few minutes, as I hadn't tried it before.

I played with the magic wand until it selected just the bright part of the eyes,
turned the brightness down quite a bit, and
turned the saturation down a lot.

(adjusted levels and ~ 25% usm on the background)

Wow - thank you so much!! Tupe = I will try your settings. Isn't she sweet??
Thanks again - I will let you know how it works out.

The reason Puddy's eyes are ghostly green like that is she's reflecting light from behind her retinas. The reflection (or is is refraction...I can't recall exactly) opens up the pupil of the cat's eye, allowing them to see better in the dark than the average animal (including us humans). It's also why it looks like their eyes "glow in the dark" at times.

I've generally countered it by not having the flash directly in their eyes. I tilt it up, and try to bounce it off the wall. This doesn't work all the time, but it does help with the correction if needed by not putting as much there in the first place.

And no, I'm not a vet...but I do have 5 cats of my own (all rescue, "special needs")).
