Exif is great! but where do i loose it? when is the exif data destroyed? or how can i save my exif info?

Depends what tools you are using. Provided you never edit the original files then you can always go back to those and copy the EXIF data. BreezeBrowser allows you to copy EXIF data from the original file to an edited copy, or you can export the EXIF data as a text file.

You may loose EXIF information if you edit and save the tiff or jpg file. Photoshop 7 apparently keeps the information unaltered, but previous versions of Photoshop do corrupt the Exif data. The safe bet is keep the smaller size thm file (if you shoot raw) or the original jpeg file and use an utility like Breezebrowser to copy Exif data from the thm or jpg file to your final edited file. Please note that not all file formats support exif information. So be sure to save your exited file as Tiff or jpg. The other option is to export (using Breezebrowser) Exif information to a text file like Roger has adviced.
