I am new at this...first post, ever. Took this second day with RebXT, Canon 55-200 USM II at sunset, servo mode. Minimal crop. No color adjustments or anything else, just the crop. Is it too warm? I hadn't set the camera to parameter 2 yet.

I was wondering what anyone thinks and any tips...I don't know if my exif info is still embedded when I shrunk this...tips welcome!

Apparently the problem is fixed.

I just figured out that JRT means Jack Russel Terrier. Nice shot, and not too warm for my taste.

Yeah, didn't know there was 100k limit on the image! Sorry!

Also, how do I maximize the image size/quality quotient with 100k?

Welcome to the forum :)

That's a really nice shot, not too warm for my taste, at all.

If you use Photoshop, first of all, size the longest edge of your image to 800 pixels. Next, go file-save for web. Play around with the quality slider until the file size is as close to 100k as you can get it, without going over. ;)

Great shot! Reminds me of the Jack Russell we had when I was a kid. Cool little dogs. :)

Further to Weemannie's good advice about getting your file size down I also find it is good to apply just a touch of Unsharp Mask after the resize as I find resizing softens the details slightly. Try settings around 90,0.3,0 but experiment with what works best depending on the image.

JRTs are cool! and that's a good photo. Color, crop, composition, DOF, exposure level are all well done. Nice work!
About being too warm, I don't think so. The histogram covers the spectrum. If it were mine, I'd slide the gamma down a pinch and add a little usm. (And it would be a cat - I don't have the energy to keep up with a Jack Russell!)

Thanks all.

Yeah, I noticed that shrinking does a job on the sharpness, I'll definitely use USM my next go around. I also went back and re-calibrated my monitor so it should be easier to adjust gamma correctly...or so I hope.

Thanks again...love the forum...:D
