A conversation I had with my brother in law and a few exchanges with Conk (re Squamish) have sparked a thought in my mind. (I know - it must be lonely)
When my brother in law worked in Washington DC, people were always asking him if he knew such and such a place in the UK as it was where the questioners ancestors came from. Invariably they wanted to know something about their ancestor’s home town and usually what it looked like.
Then I asked Conk to take some shots of Squamish for me.
I put the two together and thought that there must be people across this forum who'd like to 'see' their ancestors birthplace - and equally there could be people on the forum who live near that birthplace.
I'll get to the point now!
Why not try posting your ancestors birthplace and see if someone on the forum has a photo!
I'll start the ball rolling with Sligo in the Republic of Ireland!
{silence follows}
PS If anyone has a photo of HMS Patroclus I'd be a happy man.
