Hi there,
I'm a freelance photog and I do weddings on occasions. My basic package includes digital pictures on DVD and 100 4x6 prints. So far I've been presenting the discs in a DVD case with a printed cover and the pack of 4x6 prints in a little wooden box (bought from the dollar store). I'm a little particular when it comes to pleasing my clients and I always aim for that "wow" reaction. I haven't got a lot of good feedback about my presentation so far. I was just wondering if the way I do it is a big "no-no" and if it would better to present the prints in a photo album?
I'm just curious how other photographers out there present their pictures to their clients?

I don't do loose prints much, but if I did i'd get a nice leather proof box from my album vendor. Places like TAP USA do them as well.

Well, I'm definitely no expert *at all*, but if I'm getting married, I probably would hesitate to receive my keepsake photos in a container purchased from the dollar store.
If you are intent on just using boxes such as those, it's pretty simple to ask an interior decorator...or just a female her opinion on where you can find nicer ones from stores.
Also, put a trademark stamp on your box if you haven't already...also something about their wedding. The boxes don't even have to look the same.
I don't have any examples, but I've got ideas floating in my head. Going into a shop like Michael's or Pottery Barn, and you can probably find a higher quality than what you've been using.
Even garage sales and fairs.

Someone posted a link to these on another forum. I really love that they're custom and just plain groovy. :)
I've since signed up to look around at their other products, and am impressed by them in theory - I have yet to order any samples, though. The thread on the other forum elicited only positive feedback.

I put them in a 4x6 photo album actually two of them, they hold 250 shots each and are easy to look through, but a pain to fill.

Put the 4x6 in a box / CD in a case from Lokah.....the box comes with and insert specific for 4x6 or 5x7 or 8x10. Personally I like the Rustic boxes and cases best.

I used to buy boxes from cypress, www.cypressalbums.com/ really beautiful handmade silk boxes. They are pricey but worth it in my opinion, definately gives your clients the WOW factor. (don't give loose 4x6's anymore so don't use them)

I just don't see the value in providing 4x6" prints. I wow my clients through albums or select enlargements.

I don't provide them, but they can purchase them along with a custom designed box that I source through Mpix Pro (though I'm sure a similar box is available from bunches of places).

I offer it in 5x7's so the lid can hold the DVD. I've sold a few, but not bunches.

All of my presentation and packaging comes from one of these two companies. As for loose prints, Loktah has nice proof boxes in various sizes and K&J has photo sleeves.

These are what I use, and I really like them.

I've been a photo box that looked a lot like what mpixpro offers, but on the back side of the lid, there's a CD holder. Doesn't anybody know where I can find something like that?

If my clients buy them I drop ship them from the printer. I think they are backed in cardboard and wrapped in plastic wrap. Snazzy, I know.

Millers has that option, and I am sure Mpix does too.

I present my prints by holding them above my head and playing a fanfare from an old casette player...

That's an option on the MpixPro box. I think it costs all of $3 to add on, but you have to go with a 5x7 box; discs are larger than 4".

Hey thanks guys! How much does it cost total at Mpix?

I'm not inclined to post cost. If it's availalbe at regular Mpix, it's posted on their site. At MpixPro, you only need to register with them to sell all prices.
