These are awesome images. Did you make them with your 5d Mk II and 24-70? I bet that is a nice combo?

The 5D MkII and the 24-70 is a deadly combination (in the best way possible)!!! That's my favourite combination, as well. Looks like you get some excellent results with that combo. The above photos are really nice. Well done!

OMG these photos look awesome, and it helps when your model is absolutely gorgeous!!
I'm really new to photography so if i ask you a silly question, please just ignore me. But i was wondering what a silver reflector is? Also, how did you get the subject so clear and crisp, and the background is quite dark and shadowy? Was this done in LR or something?
many thanks for your advise.

The clarity comes down to a few things, the right camera settings, the right light, the right focus point and of course the L series lens has a bit to do with it as well. :) lol
My silver reflector is a foldable shiny circle, and I sometimes use it to reflect more light onto my subject. - I purchased it off ebay for very cheap - if you go to ebay and search "reflector' you are bound to find a folding reflector under camera accessories/photography/studio needs.
I am shooting RAW, and converting in ACR CS4 - then in photoshop CS4
There is very little for me to do to the images, sometimes they require some warming up in the colour department, and I also do a vignette in ACR to make my subject stand out , by making the edges darker.
I hope this helps you some :) Feel free to ask any thing else. :)

Thank you for letting me know. lol in other words, i need to practice more right?!! I've only gotten into photography for about a month, and everytime i see everyone else's amazing pictures, i get really depressed:oops:. It just seems that i will never be able to shoot like that. Do only the L series lenses give that sharpness to the photos? Because your photos are SO SO sharp!! Thanks for sharing:D

No - you can get some tack sharp Tamrons Too - I have a Tamron 17-55 F/2.8 and it give me sharp images everytime, given I use the right settings.
The Canon 50mm 1.8 Is an in-expensive ( around $160 au) prime, and used correctly, will give stunningly sharp images too.
Kit lenses - while ok to learn on, will stop impressing you once you get better at photography and see the quality better lenses can give.
I see - given your username you have a 50D ? Lovely ! Now scrap that kit lens and get yourself a
50mm 1.8 and if you can stretch to a Tamron 2.8, you'll be set for a widdle while !
I'm a lover of low aperture lenses :)
Yes, practice ! Take heaps !! lol, keep a note book, write down your settings.
If you take a photo, and nail it, then record what settings you used, what the light was like etc.
Read the camera's instructions, it's like a bible.
Talk lots on here, and do some Googling.
Join flickr ( www. flickr.com) upload some samples, and ask for comments, and ask questions.
I am self taught - but there's alot of digital camera photography courses out there too - if you feel like joining!
*Any other photographers on here - feel free to jump in and share your input too*
