Ugly game for Glendora. Zero defense leading to 5 sacks and the QB on his back more then a ........At least they lost their star running back on the first series of the game to a torn ACL in his knee.
1. Cheerleaders at the pre-game tail gate party. The tail gate is getting huge now with everyone showing up 2 hours early for BBQ and beer. (shhh on the beer).

2. QB before the game. If he only knew the beating he was in for.

3. Another cool sunset and 85 degrees at game start in So. Cal.

5. I don't think this guy got touched the whole game.

6. He did, scrambling once again out of the pocket. Little tight but for some reason I liked it.

8. Pretty weak on the action side I felt but this is probably the best of the night. That is the original I wish there was a bit there also.

Thanks for looking.

I quit.
edit: 1/300? <insert noob look> Is that just with the Mark III? I thought 250 was the max before you had that black shadow line on the bottom of the frame?
also edit: Great Job, great uniforms, great kids. ... just great!

Dan, very nice ones as usual. Next time I will probably ask cheerleader for a group shot.
VinnyC01 - 1dmk2 can do 1/300 with eTTL. You can do 1/320 using older 1dmk2 as long as you don't use eTTL cable. I have done so with cybersync on my 1dmk2 as well as 30d.

Thanks Vinny. 300 is the sync on the MIII. I shot some at 250 also to bring in more ambient.
Thanks Bobby.

Danny,
All are great, I like 4,7 and 56 in that order and I agree with you on #8. It would be nice if his (RB) head was up but still a great action shot, what are you going to do.
Great color and exposure.
Unfortunatly I was on my way to my daughters home comming game and my truck blew at least 1 injector so I spent the first half waiting for a tow truck. I got close I could see the lights and hear the crowd....that sucked.
The boys of the HC court were supposed to ride in my truck around the track and then jump out to be introduced,so I felt bad about that but the team did go on to win and all was good.

Another inspirational set.
The cheerleader group pics are always nice. Sunset in #3 is killer color and the detail/sharpness in his face is tops.
Great eyes and white exposure in #5 and #7.
Thanks to your threads here, I finally had a little success with flash on Friday (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=772120) too. But nothing like these.

Amazing as always :) These shots are so great because you can't even tell you're using a flash until you mention it. They lighting looks pretty natural. I love it all!

Which of the cheerleaders can drink the most beer? :-)
Nice work as always. I can live with the colder weather we have been experiencing if it would only quit raining every Friday night. I forget what a sunset looks like until I see your posts.
When does your state tourney begin?

Kevin, you can say that again, as if 45 degrees isnt insult enough, some nice rain, always makes sure.
Danny, seriously awesome series. The only one I could crit (and perhaps unjustifiably) is #4. Its a great shot but with the mouthguard out, no gloves on, and no opposing players in the frame, it looks too much like a warm up shot. I obviously wasn't there so I can't say so if I am wrong on that, then great shot for sure!

That sucks Jeff!
Thanks Clarence and Taylor.
Well hopefully not my daughter, K. They have 3 more games before CIF starts. If they make it.
That is from warm up Scott. Heck if it wasn't for warm up shots I wouldn't have any shots from baseball.

Hey man, a good image is a good image. Warm up or not, a parent will love it and you nailed the focus and exposure so its all good!

Okay - so maybe the girls help the shot but I really like the lighting, the pose and how you incoorperate the early evening sky for the background...NICE! Lighting is very good on #84 and with #29 - I guess he could tell everyone..."I hittem' so hard, I knock his stripes off!" Andy
