I looked at the Circuit City website today and they had the S2 for sale for immediate shipment or store pickup.
I picked it up at a Houston Circuit City store near me 30 minutes later.
No wait. I thought it would be longer until the S2 was available.
Check your local Circuit City if you want one now.

Have fiddled with it a bit,and like it's responsiveness. Much less shutter lag than my A80 - less than I expected. In fact, I could take kid pics with it and catch the moment pretty well.

I put a 1gb SD card in it and took a few pics. Had somewhere to go, so had to leave it for another time. It's lighter than I expected - 5 oz. more than my A80 in weight.
The zoom is very powerful, yet the camera is compact with the power off and the lense retracted.

Not a pocket camera unless you wear cargo pants, but much easier to travel with than a DSLR.

So far, so good. :D

So, have you had the opportunity to fiddle around with the S2 yet? Any insights as to pros and cons of the camera?

Powershot S2 sample picture - very large file.
Taken in TV mode (shutter priority) due to wind blowing flower.
Sunlight - zoom to frame - no post processing:

Thats a nice shot.

I was just recommending that camera today because he was looking to upgrade from his 3.2MP. Saw it from Dell for $355 w/ free shipping.
