Dave, great job! Really! The ring shot is very nice. The EXIF says not flash, but I can't believe you didn't flash the last 2.

Thanks Suzy... I did flash the last two.. they were flashed with two b800s.. all the other exif is correct however.. I was using Cybersyncs so they dont register with the EXif.

I do appreciate it.

Dave I like the staging on the wedding ring shot. However it is unfortunate about the power poll and lines coming out of the brides head. This should be correctable with PhotoShop, and perhaps while you are at it go out and take a photograph of the moon, where the moon is properly exposed and shows some lunar detail rather than being completely "blown out" then replacing tho one in the photograph with the more detailed moon (I also would enlarge the moon by maybe 50%).

yeah no kidding huh? That was one of the biggest disappointments from all of this was knowing that I was going to have to edit that out... but hey you do what you have to do right?

Interesting Idea, I might just have to try that wayne..

Thanks.

Going back to the first photo It appears that the bridal isle was built into the corner to give the longest bridal march possible in that particular back yard. Unfortunately there is this power pole in the corner also, using the other diagonal might have been a better idea. But WE all have confidence in Dave's PhotoShop abilities, don't we?

wayne yes all the confidence in the world... lol... sadly I am not the one who had the choice in where the wedding would be held.. if you switched corners to the left of the number 1 shot you would still have the telephone pole, if you moved right or basically katty corner youd have the house so no dice on that..

thanks azpix

Really a great job. Power lines aren't your fault and I'm sure you felt worse than anyone else that they were there. I've been photographing weddings a few years now and I'd be proud of any of these.

Dave just as in sports photography there are many things which the photographer must 'work around'. You should hear me bit** about some of the jewelery designs I am asked to make, then asked to make work.

Nice work, but that telephone pole could not be in a worse location.........

Just an idea, but next gig take a 10 foot ladder with you to augment your angles.

You did do a great job, especially for your first wedding. You couldn't help the power poles at all...but Sam is right, next time if you change your angle shooting, you could minimize it. I think, in viewing these samples, that you should be very proud of your first one!

Thank you guys. I do appreciate it. I had an eight footer with me that I used for some shots.

Great shots I would photoshop out the power lines and pole though it's not to tough I did these in like 10 min obviously you would want to spend more time on the hi rez ones ;)

Without the pole in the way, definitely a new perspective!
I like the warmth in the fifth photo.

Dave, you missed a line in the second pic of the edits. It just caught my eye b/c it looks out of place. Other than that, the edits look great!

Wow I love this theme! How awesome would be to photograph something like that? Awesome job in these!!

My only nitpick is some random guy in #4. I'd maybe crop the photo tighter.

I suspect thast it is a lens artifact caused be the iris of the lens interacting with a bright reflection from Dave's flash. Although there are star-filters which also induce this effect.

Actually that is just from the sun. I didn't flash the ring shots at all. And no filters were used at all from the wedding. And its not ps.

Dave tell us that you didn't resort to the dreaded "Available Light" photography? How are all of the various lighting manufacturers going to pay dividends to there investors if photographers used that old thing called a sun?
