I love your work. The last one here is my favorite of this group but they are all great.

I love the picture of the kid holding the block. It shows his little mind at work. Maybe if you shot it from the left and a lower angle you might see the eyes.

all are really nice.

Great photos. Great capture of personality. What kind of light and lens did you use?

i used the 50mm lense-
one alien bee with large soft box and a large reflector.
iso 100- ss 200- f 5.6

i set my light up where the softbox is in front and to the camera left but i does NOT face the child it faces the wall on my right then to that side closer to him i have the reflector to fill- the light spill of light works very nice and keep people from blinking

I love them all, but my fave is the first one. There's something about B&W that I love anyway, but his eyes look superb too

How is the warm tone achieved as in #2? Do you just add a low opacity layer of color?
If you don't mind my asking, how do you pick the color? It alsmost like an espresso tone rather than sepia...Beautiful!

its was done by doing my B&W conevrsion and softening the image then to get the tone i added a layer of chocoalte brown color and changed the layer blend mode to color. i thnk the opcacity was 40% on that layer i may be off

How and what do you mean by soften the image? It looks pretty sharp to me...

Well, I tried it w/ mine. I have to experiment more w/ picking the right color and adjusting the opacity. Sometimes I find that it made the image look muddy or like there's a film over it.

I like the way your image has a rich espresso tone but the skin doesn't look overly toned.

Thanks for the input...

oh i alwasy use a tad of gallasian blur and erase back the eyes and such on the chocolate conversions.

did you remebr to tuen the layer to a color layer you look in the layer pallete and select blending options and choose color.

this means its colors the grey and black parts in that color and the light parts dont get filmy

Your photo is sharper than mine so the gaussian blur works well. Might make mine look too blurry, but we'll see...Yes, I did change the mode to color and I think 20% opacity. I think it might have too much magenta or something...I'll fiddle w/ it some more...

Thanks a bunch

if you want to send me a small file big enough to work on i can try a conversion ( i do each photo by the image i do a set one) and send it back to you with step by step on how i got the conversion. send the file in color though.
